When Grazia Called {Month of Media Madness}

It’s just the way things work- weeks go by with nothing happening in your life and suddenly you are so busy that you have no time to do anything! Which is exactly what happened when Grazia called to say they wanted to feature us. Pretty exciting stuff considering it’s a national (and very cool) publication  and we were going to be a part of their first ever issue of Grazia Bride. Everything seemed perfect except we wouldn’t be able to make it for the shoot in Delhi due to prior commitments . We thought we had lost this very cool opportunity . Who said or rather how many people have said nothing is impossible if you just put your mind to it? We ,along with the Grazia team , decided that April and I would just have to style and shoot our own photo for the magazine! Sounds easier than it is really. For one, we had to shoot it in the same theme as the rest of the story. Secondly, we had to style ourselves AND the set (damn those gaindas that just kept falling ) AND take the picture AND worst of all- do this all while wearing high heels. Oh, did I forget to mention that we only had a few hours to do all this before I needed to catch an evening train? Somehow we managed to do all this in a few hours and just when we were ready to go-the electricity went! And it came again. Then went again. Quite the cruel joke. We did manage to get the photo though. And if I can say so myself, we did a pretty good job. What do you think? Could you tell ??

Here’s us in the magazine. We were in great company as well- Vishal Punjabi of The Wedding Filmer, Joseph Radhik, The Little Food Co. and Groovy Two Shoes.

We are pretty big fans of Sabyasachi so it was doubly exciting that he was the guest editor of the magazine. I really liked what he said so I thought I would add his article as well.

Beautiful : That’s the only excuse you need.

Let’s see. It’s a beautiful day. You have a beautiful friend. What do you do ? You take (beautiful? ) pictures obviously! This post has been a long time coming-I really don’t understand why I hoard photos especially when it is Tara I am photographing! The good news is they are up now and you can see some here and some on my other blog-Not So Routine. Luckily,we shot so much that I have enough photos for both blogs !

I didn’t take many photos at the wedding- I had lehenga arranging duties , okay!!!! I thought I should split the posts up anyway -Getting Ready and The Wedding. Just for fun ! You will finally see the groom-they really do get neglected ,don’t they? It was SUCH a fun wedding and I was sorry when it ended though I did sleep for like three days after. Here’s to good friends getting married to the loves of their lives and living happily ever after!

Princess Mits gets ready.

The problem with an early morning wedding is that it’s early. *yawn* Getting ready takes a LOT of time and effort so you have to get it done right! Watching the most talented make up artist Amanender and his wife Kapila do their magic on the most beautiful bride was totally worth it. Loads of lovely light streaming in through the windows, pots of coffee and a few PJs (poor jokes) really made the morning memorable. Oh, and the fact that Anandita (aka Princess Mits) was getting married!!!

So, here you go-some of the photos from that morning.2013-09-10_0001 AA_0051AA_0042 AA_0043 AA_0044 AA_0046 AA_0052 AA_0053 AA_0055 AA_0054 AA_0059 AA_0060 AA_0061 AA_0062AA_0045 AA_0063 AA_0056 AA_0064 AA_0066 AA_0067 AA_0068 AA_0069 AA_0071 AA_0072 AA_0073AA_0047 AA_0075 AA_0076 AA_0077 AA_0078 AA_0079 AA_0080 AA_0081 AA_0082 AA_0083 AA_0084 AA_0086 AA_0070All photos are copyright of Kismet Jewell Nakai © 2013 so please no stealing or using without permission. Guestpost Bon Anniversaire Ketchup!

I just saw a notification from WordPress telling me we registered this blog three years ago. THREE YEARS! Could the Unreal Bride possibly be so many years old?  WOW! This calls for a celebration and a plan. Ironically, I came to write a post about a birthday celebration but not our own! This can only mean one thing- a combined birthday party!!!! Who is going to be our birthday buddy , you ask? Well none other than our favourite bag people (I say that in the nicest way possiple)- Ketchup! You know them well from our blog- we have done some of our favourite shoots with their products, had insane giveaways and have become great friends since then! If you know the Unreal Bride, you know Ketchup!!

Ketchup celebrated their 2nd birthday last month and to celebrate -they took a trip to gorgeous Paris. Anyone who visits Paris is sure to come back oozing with inspiration. So as a way to celebrate their birthday they wrote a guest post for us on Paris annnnd if you read to the bottom of the post, you might find a pleasant surprise waiting for you!

Here’s what the Ketchup girls had to say!

5 things about Paris (pronounced Fr. paˈri), that we L-O-V-E !

paris

Très chic:

Paris is the fashion capital of the world. The french, both men and women, don’t just love fashion, they understand the true essence of fashion and they sure as hell know how to rock some seriously hot haute couture – respect!

C’est si bon:

One simply can not get enough of the breads, the cheeses, the steaks, the wines, the mussels, the brews, the desserts – yes the desserts : when we say french desserts, we mean lots of delicious calories such as macaroons, mille-feuilles, profiteroles, eclairs, tarte tatins and crème brûlées!

nomnom

Talking of which… we could kill for a fresh french vanilla custard creme brûlée in a super cute cafe in Paris RIGHT NOW!

Bon appetit!

Très magnifique:

French architecture took our breath away .. The gardens, the ever-so-beautiful river Siene, the 18th century buildings, le tour d’eiffel, the champs-elysees, the museums. What’s not to love? Infact we even loved the windows, the open spaces, the boulevards and the sidewalks.

architecture

Je ne veux pas travailler:

The weather in Paris all through our birthday month was spectacular, the cool breeze and the slight drizzle along with the smell of freshly heated chestnuts made our walks in the pristine gardens along the river Siene simply surreal.

Le temps de l’amour :

The city of Paris is like a classic timeless black and white romantic movie!

2013-08-07_0006

Paris makes one want to fall in love, Paris makes one want to kiss…. and then keep kissing … and at Ketchup we love kissing .

muaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Paris je t’aime!

(All photos have been taken by the Ketchup girls unless otherwise indicated!)

WAIT WAIT WAIT!! We aren’t done here yet!!

How can there be a party without a present? Or rather, TWO presents!! If we don’t love Ketchup already, get ready to love them even more because they just said they wanted to GIVEAWAY TWO bags to celebrate their 2nd birthday! Wait, does that mean on their 5th birthday, we will get ….five bags?! Ok! Let’s not jump the gun shall we. So, where was I? Yes. TWO bags to win.
