Photo Of The Week

Photo Credit Neil Menneer Via OMG I’m Getting Married

Why is this photograph extra special? Apart from the fact that the Groom is enjoying a bit of cricket before he gets married (amazing isn’t it!) , it’s Cricket World Cup Time! Which means that lots of things are going to come to a standstill around here (as in in India-I’m not much of a cricket buff but did you the CRAZY match against England yesterday?!) till April.

Either way, I LOVE this shot- playing a bit of cricket in their top hats and tail coats -epic! No way this couldn’t be our photo of the week!

Thursday Thoughts: Chair Dress-up!

I’m easily distracted. An example- I was busy editing some photographs and suddenly decided I want to write a post on chair ‘dresses’ . While looking for those, I thought of the ‘thrones’ bride and groom sit on after they are married here in India! That led to me being annoyed  because it bugs the heck out of me when I think of the couple sitting high up on a platform on these not-so-pretty chairs .Am I being judgmental? Perhaps! but it’s the truth! Say NO to ugly throne type chairs at your wedding! That was me getting distracted because this is not what the post is about! Ugly throne type chairs will get a post of their own some day,but not today. Today is about pretty chairs.

I saw these gorgeous chairs and thought to myself, why do we restrict ourselves in the way we dress up our chairs?

The most typical thing to do is cover the entire chair and tie a sash around it (usually a red one). It may not look SO bad, but it’s boring! We have seen enough of it and want something different!

After a bit of searching , I found there are only a gazillion things you can do to the chairs to make them pretty! I particularly liked these with the big fabric flowers on the back for the bride and groom (see! You can do so much better than ugly thrones for the couple!! ). Also, the chairs are so simple , yet so elegant!

If you left it up to me though- I would totally go with the mismatched look! Love the combination of all kinds of chairs! I would throw in a couple of cool couches too.

A fine line between the Aunty Circle and stylish? I think stylish when I see these red beauties AND my feet stop hurting instantly.

Sunday Special-The Wedding Filmer

When we first started the blog-  we searched and searched for cool wedding videos (for this post we wrote months ago)hoping to find something related to the Indian wedding market. That time we found it near impossible. Now, we know of multiple people who have made cool Indian wedding videos- we have become pros at searching, bookmarking and keeping an eye out for these things(yeah,we are SO cool!)! BUT, none that I have found are actually based in India!

Imagine the excitement when we found the Wedding Filmer! Based in India, they make super fun and amazing videos of your wedding. Gone are the days when you want thirty hours of footage from your wedding which you will store away to see 25 years from now and STILL fall asleep when you watch it then-because face it- watching your mothers aunts mother in law dancing at your sangeet isn’t your idea of fun! Videos and photography are the same- they should be something you love to look at over and over again , feeling the madness and happiness of your wedding whenever you look at them.

Like the Wedding Filmer says- Ever tried watching a wedding video which turns out to be four hours of badly edited, terribly shot & never-ending footage of randomness. It’s plain painful to watch. That’s not what memories should be made up of. We TOTALLY agree!

Only once you have seen their films will you understand how totally awesome their videos are!

Power to the bride in this video! She is beyond awesome!

SOOOO- did you love it or did you love it?! These are just a few examples of the work they do- you can check out their Facebook page to see the other videos.I’d strongly suggest if you’re getting married- hire these guys asap! I have a feeling they will be pretty booked up in no time!

You can watch more films by the Wedding Filmer  here and get to know them better on Facebook !
