Real Wedding N&A Part II

I wasn’t meant to make you wait so long for the second part of this real wedding , but things got pretty hectic and before I knew it, I was in the middle of Kenya with no internet access. It was brilliant to be disconnected from phones and the internet but after a while, it got a bit suffocating. I just wanted to quickly check my mail, or tweet for a minute .Anything!! I just needed my internet fix! So here I am, back from the beautiful wilderness and the first thing I am doing is posting part two of N&A’s wedding. Much much delayed but I know you guys will love it!

I don’t think I mentioned it earlier but this wedding was in Delhi, which is torturously hot during the summer but in the winter, it is absolutely lovely. The days are almost always bright and sunny – perfect for a wedding out in the open. The brilliant blue skies and bright sunny days are synonymous with weddings- every one takes advantage of the weather!

The engagement ceremony and mehendi happened on the same day which meant primarily two things- one, the bride changed from one gorgeous outfit to another and two, I took billions of photos! It was hard choosing just a few to share with you but I did the best I could though I wish I could show you all!

Like always, words don’t say as much as the photographs do so let’s take a look at some of the engagement photographs.

Navdeep, the gorgeous bride, waited patiently for the groom to arrive ,she had been ready since 7 am! !Who says that it’s the women who take longer to get dressed??!

No wedding is quite the same without the bride’s friends by her side making sure she’s doing alright (and isn’t going hungry) during all the madness.

After the engagement ceremony, the bride disappeared only to reappear wearing yet another gorgeous outfit- probably my favourite out of the two! Both the outfits were by designer Mallika Mathur who doesn’t seem to have a website but you can read a little about her here.

Thursday Purseday: Geometrically So…

So what if I am out enjoying the Masai Mara? Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have some nice bags to look at! Love the geometric patterns on this bag!

Thursday Thoughts:Guestpost- The perfect honeymoon {African Edition}

Jambo!! By the time you all read this, half of the Unreal Bride team (that’s me!) will be already in the middle of my awesome vacation in Kenya! Thanks to the power of twitter- I ‘met’ Louise who had some great tips about what to do in Kenya and where to stay, eat and shop-all the important things one needs to know for a holiday! That’s what brings us to today’s post.Louise was kind enough to put together a guest post on some great places to honeymoon right from South Africa to Kenya- she got married in South Africa (see more from her wedding here) and then honeymooned in Kenya and Zanzibar- so if I were you, I would read carefully and take her advice- she definitely knows what she is talking about! Enough from me- say hello to Louise!

Hi Unreal Bride readers!  Louise here, from Bijoux Bride.  I’m so excited Kismet asked me to guest post while she’s off on her adventures, and this is my first guest post so please be nice 🙂

Kismet and I met on twitter while she was researching her trip, considering my general obsession with Africa (I married a South African in Cape Town and honeymooned in Kenya & Zanzibar!) I couldn’t resist sharing my experiences!

My love affair with Africa has been alive for almost 10 years now, and I would love nothing more than to encourage you to honeymoon there!

So, why Africa?  Well, its stunning and varied scenery, beautiful weather, and friendly and welcoming culture will steal your heart!  Despite the bad press you have probably read about safety in Africa, please don’t let that put you off.  With a bit of common sense you will be able to enjoy everything this magical place has to offer, trouble-free.

Cape Town has become a popular overseas wedding and honeymoon destination in the last few years, the successful 2010 Soccer World Cup threw a spotlight on the Rainbow Nation, and didn’t they shine?  Cape Town offers the best of city and beach, wine country and private game reserves, so if you’re limited for time it’s a great choice to experience a little bit of Africa.

For a luxury city break, stay at The One & Only in V&A Waterfront, home of luxury boutiques and cool restaurants.   From here it’s a quick car journey into the city centre, where you can explore the Castle of Good Hope, the old Cape Malay Quarter of the Bo Kaap and visit the stalls full  African curios at Greenmarket Square.
